China, Imperial. An Order of the Double Dragon, Type I, III Class, I Grade Neck Badge, Collector’s Version, c.1960

(双龙宝星). (Shuānglóng Bǎoxīng). Instituted by the Guangxu Emperor on 7 February 1882. A lovely Rothe collector’s copy, in silver gilt, depicting an ovular medal with blue enamel cloud patterns around the exterior with red glass cabochons, the interior circle presenting raised dragons on a blue enamel field, with a central blue stone protruding from a sunburst pattern, the reverse bears matching symbols without enamels, and a large central stone, the badge is surmounted by a cloud suspension, the badge measures 47.95 mm (w) x 74.12 mm, weighs 60.93 grams, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
