Canada, Commonwealth. A Second War RCAF Winter Service Tunic to P/O Green, 1944

A lovely RCAF tunic of the second war, named to P/O J.C. Green by C.R. Frost. In blue wool, single breasted with open drop fall collar. There are two breast pockets, each scalloped flap is closed with a single brass R.C.A.F button (additional snap closures on each corner of the flap) and two larger lower pockets with straight flaps, also closed by brass buttons. Each side of the tunic is secured closed by four large brass R.C.A.F,  with a thick belt with brass closure. Above the left breast pocket sits an embroidered Engineer wing in multicoloured threads, and a Canadian Volunteers Overseas Medal with leaf device protected by a plastic casing. Each of the sleeve shoulders bear a CANADA embroidered shoulder title, the cuffs are purposely designed without buttons and have Flying Officer rank stripes sewn upon them. The inside of the tunic comes with a blue rayon lining, while the sleeves are lined in light cloth material. There is a pocket on the right side. A manufacturers label is present at the nape of the neck, reading “C.R. FROST & SON 5 & 7 BRIDGE STREET YORK” and is named to P/O J.C Green, and dated 22/10/44. The tunic measures 41 cm across the shoulders, 59 cm sleeve length, and 71.5cm in total length, exhibiting light soiling overall, with small areas of mothing, a tunic in near extremely fine condition.
