Canada, Commonwealth. A Second War RCAF Type "B" Flying Helmet

Rubberized mask with rubber hoses and khaki cotton straps, with the appropriate hardware, cords and whistle attached, in two basic pieces, manufacturer stamped in black ink "A.E.H.E." above "4" on one of the straps, marked "MEDIUM" with the British Broad Arrow on the rubber nose piece, marked with the King's crown flanked by "REF. No. 10A/12571 A" and "M 10A/12570" along with "ON" on the electronics, all four microphones marked "R.C.A.F. / REC. C-3 / 10A/3698 / N.E. CO." on their reverses, the leather portions exhibiting extensive fraying and wear, the mask accompanied by two large 20 mm rounds, measuring 185 mm in length, silver-nickel nose with a brass base, inert, both are stamped "BBC" and "20MM" on the base, one is dated "1941" while the other is dated "1942", the mask housed in a gray cotton bag, with shoulder strap and dual snap closure, manufacturer's label in white cotton stitched in place on the front, the label inscribed "OXYGEN ASSEMBLY / GUTTA PERCHA RUBBER, LIMITED / MADE IN CANADA", with light wear evident on the bag.
