Canada, Commonwealth. A Rare RCAF Pilot’s Watch, 1942

A Second War Royal Canadian Air Force Pilot’s Watch constructed of a steel casing with a white dial, featuring hour marks in Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions, with dots at the remaining hours, with hour and minute hands, with a functional crown emanating from the side, the hands and numerals have remnants of the phosphorescent paint emitting a slight glow under black light, the caseback bearing an engraved mark of “R.C.A.F.”, model number of “REF. NO. 6B/150”, and serial number of “W-4587/42”, indicating production by the noted firm of Waltham Premier, a Type A-11 Navigation watch produced c. 1942, won on a replacement leather strap size 16, demonstrating some scratches to reverse, appears to be functional and can be wound, in extremely fine condition.
