A beautiful and rare Omega military issued watch, 17 jewel, Lemania 2221 movement, manual wind crown, the obverse features a cream dial with black Arabic hourly numerals with luminous 12, 6, and hands, with a red coloured second hand, subsidiary dials for seconds and a 30-minute recording with a crystal face covering, contained in a round steel case with original crown and singular button at 2 o’clock, a screwback reverse exterior which bears the inscription RCAF SERIAL NO HA-62-231 6W/16, interior of case covering is engraved FAB. SUISSE SWISS MADE 34/62, measures 38mm (w – excluding crown) x 43.53mm (h – inclusive of band bars), weighs 48.6 grams, small marks of wear to steel exterior, dial and hands in excellent condition, all hands in working order and keeps time, does not include band, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: This watch is powered by the rare Omega 2221 hacking movement, which is unique to the Royal Canadian Air Force. The crown can be pulled up, stopping the time and allowing the wearer to sync his watch with others. The luminous quality is Tritium Lume, which offers glow in the dark qualities. It is believed there are only approximately 275 HA62 still in existence.
