Tape Recorder (metal casing, bearing the Minifon P55 insignia on the exterior of the lid, the interior with various parts in metal or plastic, with Stop, Rewind, Play Back, Record Buttons, along with Volume Control and On/Off Switches, the underside of the lid with a label affixed with an instructions list entitled "10 Points on Correct Use of Minifon P 55- "S" ", spool to spool design with a recording wire linking the two reels via the recording head, housings for three types of batteries (Motor, Anode and Filament), with residue evident in the Motor battery chamber from a battery that had previously leaked acid, measuring 100 mm (w) x 175 mm (h) x 42.5 mm (h));
2. Cassette Case (in clear plastic with a light blue tinge, housing two reels with recording wire, one of which is tied off with green cord, measuring 97 mm (w) x 48 mm (h) x 16.5 mm (h));
3. Speaker (white plastic housing, with red cloth insert, maker marked "Protona-minifon" along with two settings "Telefon - Mikrofon" (Telephone - Microphone) above a sliding switch on the front, four prong connection, measuring 85.2 mm in diameter x 47 mm in depth);
4. Speaker Base (white plastic housing, with red cloth insert, four holes on top for the four prongs on the speaker to be inserted, green stippled base with a label marked "8355", measuring 68.5 mm (w) x 87.7 mm (h) x 32 mm (d), with cord that finishes with two plugs (one with a large single-prong, the other with a triple-prong);
5. Headphones (dual clear plastic tubing with "minifon" insignia at the black plastic junction, the headphones swivel at the junction to allow for proper head placement, flesh-coloured capped bud plugged into the reverse of the junction piece, white plastic ear inserts, long gray cord that finishes with a large single-prong);
6. Morse Code Sender (green rubberized exterior, "minifon" label affixed, push-down black rubberized button mounted to a post for sending codes in the centre, dark plastic plate in the base, green ringed rubberized bottom, measuring 95.5 mm in diameter x 46 mm in depth, black cord with triple-prongs);
7. Transformer (white plastic housing, plate affixed to the top inscribed marked "Protona / 220/110 V 50-60 Hz 9V-120mA", warning in German and marked "MADE IN GERMANY" on the bottom, measuring 51 mm (w) x 72 mm (h) x 41 mm (h), with two cords attached, the shorter cord with three prongs, the longer cord with two-prongs);
8. Wrist Watch (metal casing, marked "17 JEWELS" and "ANTIMAGNETIC" on the face, gold-coloured minute and hour hands, second hand in red, numerals "12 and "6" along with hour positions in black, two insets featuring minute and second clocks, each with gold-coloured hands, with gradations on the perimeter, the minute positions in black and twenty-four clock positions in red on the inner ring, the outer ring in black and marked "Kmh", plug-in on the left side for the gray cord that finishes with a large single-prong, scuff marks evident on the glass crystal, non-functioning crown, the watch measuring 39.2 mm in diameter x 14 mm in depth, with a brown leather wristband with a lacquered upper and raw underside);
9. two Cords (one cord in gray with a large coupling bearing a large single-prong at one end, with an alligator clip at the other; the other cord in white with a large coupling bearing a concave black rubber attachment at one end, with a large single-prong at the other);
10. Kit Case (simulated dark green cloth exterior, three-side zipper closure, plastic pouch affixed to the inside lid, the pouch bearing the Minifon P55 insignia in gold-coloured ink at the upper right and exhibiting severe cracking overall, with eleven compartments in various sizes inside for transport of items, the exterior exhibiting extensive wear, the case having had its cover removed, exposing glue marks, likely for security reasons and has been replaced by a Toronto Sun newspaper article explaining the history of Camp X (read the text in the Footnote below), measuring 340 mm (w) x 270 mm (h) x 60 mm (d).
The pieces have been well used and show their age. A very mysterious piece of Canadian history. Fine.
