A British War Medal, in silver, rim impressed 531108 PTE. J.V. JOHNSON. 72-CAN.INF., light wear and contact marks to edges, dark patina, very fine.

A Victory Medal, in bronze gilt, rim impressed 531108 PTE. J.V. JOHNSON. 72-CAN.INF., light wear and contact marks to edges, areas of verdigres, very fine.

Footnote: John Victor Johnson was born in Athlone, Ireland in 1897. He was living in Vancouver and employed as a dental mechanic when he enlisted with the 158th Canadian Infantry Battalion on January 24, 1916.

He arrived in England on October 19, 1916 via the SS Olympic. He served with the 72nd Battalion. Johnson was demobilized in June 5, 1919
