A British War Medal, in silver, rim impressed 219619 PTE. J. PRICE. 50-CAN.INF., lovely patina, light wear, very fine.
A Victory Medal, in bronze gilt, rim impressed 219619 PTE. J. PRICE. 50-CAN.INF., minor wear, extremely fine.
An ID tag, brown fibre, impressed 219619 F J PRICE 50 BATT. INF. CANADIANS, measures 39.4 mm (w) x 33.2 mm (h), with two holes, very fine.
A Service pin, in bronze and enamels, very fine.
A 1934 Canadian Corps Reunion Pin, in browning copper, horizontal pin on the reverse marked LACKEY MEC CO TORONTO, measures 24.3 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), very fine.
Footnote: Johnston Fortner Price was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1897. He was employed as a shipper when he enlisted on September 14, 1915. He arrived in England at the end of May 1916. Price proceeded overseas with the 50th Battalion in August, 1916.
He was hospitalized in November 1916 for a gunshot wound to the left side of his face, while serving with the 80th battalion at the Battle of the Somme. He was ultimately discharged in early January, 1917. In April of the same year, he suffered from Diptheria, and was hospitalized for one month.
Price was discharged due to demobilization in June 1919.
