In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
In pickled brass, maker marked "G. RONDEAU QUEBEC", type I with French legends, measuring 44.3 mm (w) x 43.8 mm (h), both lugs intact, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Canadian Depot Battalions were formed in August 1917 and established in central locations within various military districts across Canada. They handled the training of the final allotments of recruits and draftees to various battalions in England and fighting in France. After the signing of the armistice, they were used as demobilization centres for returning Canadian corps. The battalions were disbanded on September 15, 1920. Most depot battalions used the regiment badges of the military district in which they were posted, with titles being the only identifying insignia. The 2nd Quebec Regiment, 1st Depot Battalion was posted to Military District No. 4, headquartered in Quebec City, Quebec.
