(Ordre royal du Cambodge. គ្រឿងឥស្សរិយយសព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា). Instituted February 8, 1864 by King Norodom I. Of extremely high quality French manufacture, exhibiting characteristic details of French style with heavily convex design and deeply faceted silver finishings, consisting of the sash badge of the order, in toned silver gilt, an eight-pointed star with multi-faceted rays, the obverse with an elongated oval dark blue enameled medallion bearing the Cambodian Coat of Arms in Gold surrounded by a red enameled border, the reverse plain, suspended from a hollow swivel Cambodian Royal crown and swivel ring from a section of period original sash, measuring 63.90 mm (w) x 96.6 mm (h-inclusive of crown), weighing 50.4 grams, marked with boars head on reverse 12 o'clock arm denoting French silver fineness post 1838; accompanied by the matching star of the order, highly convex, with hand finished eight arms, centre also with an oval dark blue enameled medallion bearing the Cambodian Coat of Arms in in silver surrounded by a red enameled border, reverse with central pin assembly, dual stays, measuring 80.00 mm (w) x 91.14 mm (h), 91.6 grams, marked with boars head on pin denoting French silver fineness post 1838, extremely fine and an extremely attractive set.
