(царски Поръчка на Кирил и Методий). Instituted on May 18, 1909. Reinstituted in 2003. In silver gilt, a long collar featuring 52 small red enamelled links with superimposed lions, plain reverse, culminating in a four point red enamelled star with a superimposed cross, connected to the sash badge via a thin chain, measuring roughly 90 cm in length, all enamels intact, in mint condition.
The Sash badge, in silver gilt, featuring a blue enamelled cross with red enamelled flames in each quadrant, the obverse presenting a superimposed Saints on the central disc, the reverse medallion with the colours of Bulgaria, the badge measures 77.1 mm (w) x 81.2 mm (h), enamels intact, in mint condition.
The Star of the Order, in silver gilt, multipiece construction comprising a four point star with smooth rays, and the central superimposed insignia of the order, a blue enamelled cross with red enamelled flames in each quadrant, the obverse presenting a superimposed Saints on the central disc, the reverse offers a vertical pin assembly, unmarked, measures 89.2 mm (w) x 89.0 mm (h), weighs 212.07 grams,no flaws, in mint condition.
A miniature of the order, in silver gilt and enamels, single piece construction presenting the medallion featuring the enamelled colours of Bulgaria, plain reverse, measures 19.5 mm (w) x 21.8 mm (h), worn on the original orange ribbon, mint.
All pieces are contained in the original red velvet case, measures 31.5 cm (w) x 38.5 cm (h), functional hinge and clasp, light wear to corners, extremely fine.
Accompanied by the Award Document identifying the recipient “Prof. Dr. Eng. Marin Penchev Slavov” for “significant research and design activities for the implementation of large water supply and sewage projects, as well as his many years of teaching activity.”, signed by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the Minister President, and awarded on June 3, 2009. The document measures 29.3 cm (w) x 42 cm (l), rolled, and contained in a matching red velvet tube with lid, all in extremely fine condition.
