Instituted August 2, 1891 by Prince Ferdinand I. Type I. 1908-1918 Issue. In silvered bronze, an arrow cross with oak branches in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring the monogram of the founder Knyaz Ferdinand I, the reverse medallion featuring a lion, surmounted by a large crown, measures 46 mm (w) x 72.4 mm (h), original trifold ribbon, light wear and loss of silver finish, very fine condition.
Contained in original case, the red leatherette exterior is marked with the crown, inscribed "ОРДЕНЪ / "ЗА ГРАЖДАНСКА ЗАСЛУГА" / VI. CIII." in gold-coloured ink, inside lid lined in white satin and padded, a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a black felt recessed medal bed, single clasp closure, measuring 65 mm (w) x 130 mm (h) x 25 mm (d), very light soiling evident on the exterior, light wear, functional clasp, extremely fine.
