Includes:

1. Order of Military Merit, V Class (Ordem do Mérito Militar). Instituted in 1943. Four-piece construction, in silver with green, white, yellow and blue enamels, measuring 37.5 mm (w) x 43.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, large rosette affixed to its original ribbon with pinback, intact enamels. In its hardshelled case of issue, dark green pebbled exterior, Brazilian coat-of-arms in gold-coloured ink on the lid, inside lid in white nylon, padded and maker marked "CONDAL RIO", base with a medal bed in navy blue felt, with recessed medal beds for the missing Ribbon Bar and Rosette, case measuring 102.5 mm (w) x 148 mm (h) x 26 mm (d), nips evident on the lid.

2. Army "Blood of Brazil" Medal (Medalha do Exército "Sangue do Brasil"). Instituted in 1945. In bronze with red enamels, measuring 35.7 mm (w) x 52 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, original ribbon, fine chipping evident in the red enamels on the star at the far left. Accompanied by its Ribbon Bar, measuring 35.3 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), with dual prong pinback, in an unmatched hardshelled case of issue, dark green pebbled exterior, Brazilian coat-of-arms in gold-coloured ink along with a label inscribed in Portuguese "CAVALEIRO" (Knight) on the lid, inside lid in white nylon, padded and maker marked "CONDAL RIO", base with a medal bed in navy blue felt, with recessed medal beds for the Medal, case likely issued for another medal as evidenced by the shape of the medal bed, measuring 83.5 mm (w) x 133 mm (d) x 29 mm (d), edge wear evident on the exterior.

3. Navy Admiral Almirante Tamandaré Merit Medal (Medalha de Mérito Almirante Almirante Tamandaré da Marinha). Instituted in 1957. Fullsize: in bronze gilt, measuring 35.2 mm (w) x 39.8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, original ribbon with dual prong pinback, exhibiting residue in the recessed areas on both sides from cleaning; and Miniature: in bronze gilt, measuring 12.5 mm (w) x 15.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, original ribbon with pinback. Accompanied by its Ribbon Bar, measuring 37.5 mm (w) x 10.5 mm (h) with dual push pins, and its 10 mm wide Rosette with push pin, in their hardshelled case of issue, dark green pebbled exterior, Brazilian coat-of-arms in gold-coloured ink on the lid, inside lid in emerald green nylon, padded and maker marked "MILBAINDES RIO", base with a medal bed in dark green felt, with recessed medal beds for the Medal, Miniature, Ribbon Bar and Rosette, case measuring 102.5 mm (w) x 152 mm (h) x 36 mm (d), light discolouration evident on the lid.

Ranging from better than very fine to near extremely fine.

The Order of Military Merit was instituted on June 11, 1943 by President Getúlio Vargas and is awarded to members of the Brazilian Army or foreign armies for services to the nation, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight. 2. The Army "Blood of Brazil" Medal was instituted on July 5, 1945 for Brazilian troops and civilians who served in War operations and who were injured through actions against the enemy. The three stars on the obverse are symbolic of the three wounds received by Brigadier Sampaio at the Battle of Tuiuti in 1866 against Paraguay. 3. The Navy Admiral Almirante Tamandaré Merit Medal was instituted in 1957 and is awarded to recognize foreign or Brazilian authorities, military and civil personnel and institutions, who rendered outstanding services to the development of Brazilian Navy traditions.
