Bosnia And Herzegovina. A Silver Police Badge

In silver, an eight-point star with beaded rays, the obverse featuring the coat of arms with a diagonal line and three stylized lilies on each side, the reverse is hollow, the badge is suspended from a rectangular bar with a lightly textured field, pin on the reverse, measures 29.9mm (w) x 43.9mm (h), weighs 5.4 grams, lovely patina, in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The Silver Police Badge was established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina by issuing the Rulebook on Recognitions and Awards that is awarded by the Minister of Internal Affairs in Wartime Conditions.

The Silver Police Badge, a war recognition-decoration, is awarded to members of the MUP of the RBiH who particularly distinguished themselves in armed opposition to the aggressor, contributed to the expansion of the free parts of BiH, who performed several acts in which their personal courage and self-sacrifice stood out, and in which the aggressor was inflicted significant losses in personnel and material resources.

A total of 229 members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina were awarded the Silver Police Badge, half of which were awarded posthumously.
