Benin, Republic. A National Order of Benin, Grand Officer Set, by Bertrand

(Ordre National du Bénin) National Order of Benin, Type II, since 1993. In gilt bronze and green enamel, the reverse side with enamelled crest, measures 60.5 mm x 65 mm, hallmarked on the suspension loop with Arthus Bertrand Mark, worn on original neck ribbon, near mint condition. 

The star of the order, in gilt bronze and green enamel, a grand officer’s star featuring a five armed star with silver faceted rays in each quadrant, the reverse side with enamelled coat of arms, fastened by a rocking pin flanked by dual stays, 91.5 mm in diameter, hallmarked Arthus-Bertrand on the pin, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.

Contained in the original green case, the interior lid marked Arthus-Bertrand PARIS, with a brushed felt board medal bed with ribbon compartment above, measures 130 mm (w) x 250 mm (h) x 50 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, tape residue to the lid, minor wear, near extremely fine. Accompanied by a boutonniere of the Grand Officer grade.
