Bavaria, Kingdom. An Army Officer’s Buckle and Brocade

(Bayern Feldbinde für Offiziere). An extremely well-preserved Bavarian Officer’s brocade and buckle, the former constructed of a reinforced smooth blue wool underlay, the exterior bearing a silver aluminum wire tresse with two machine-embroidered light blue threaded bands, with dual sliding knots of identical composition, one end of the reverse affixed with a brown leather tongue with nine sets eyelets for an adjustable fit, the tongue stamped with a size mark of “93”, measuring 4 cm (w) x 104 cm (l), the opposite end retaining a period original buckle, constructed of silvered and polished bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised Bavarian crown, set within a circular laurel leaf wreath, the reverse with dual integral loops accommodation buckles, unmarked with the exception of a DRGM registration number, measuring 46 mm in diameter, with only minor signs of wear to the brocade, a superb and matching set in extremely fine condition.
