A bronze iron cross paty with a laurel wreath situated between the arms and two crossed upward-pointing swords, the obverse centre bears a helmet, the 12 o’clock arm bears the date “1939”, the 6 o’clock arm bears the date “1945”, the arms read “FUR HEIMAT UND VOLK” (FOR HOME AND PEOPLE), the reverse is plain, measuring 43.33 mm (w) x 45.90 mm (h), with suspension ring on red and white triangular ribbon, very fine.
