Austria, Imperial. A Lot of Orders, Medals & Decorations

1. A Military Merit Cross, I Class with Crown; (Goldenes Verdienstkreuz mit Krone). Instituted 16 February 1850. (1850-1918 issue). Military Division. In  gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a cross with red enamelled arms, the obverse with a central white enamelled medallion bearing a central gilt monogram of Franz Joseph I, circumscribed by an inscription of “VIRIBUS UNITIS” (“UNITED FORCES”), the reverse with a central white enamelled medallion bearing a gilt date of “1849”, on a gilt and enamelled crown suspension with loop connecting to a period original tri-fold ribbon with stripes denoting military division, the loop partial maker marked “V. MAYERS SOHNE”, measuring 35.87 mm (w) x 58.5 mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), ribbon with crossed swords, the decoration remains in very fine condition.

2. Bravery Medal, II Class, constructed of silver, 31 mm (d); 

3. Military Merit Medal, Gold Grade, constructed of bronze gilt, 30.84 mm (d);

4. Eleven Year Long Service Cross, gilt zinc, 35.66 mm (w);

5. A Military Merit Medal, Karl I, Bronze Medal, zinc, 30.8 mm (w);

6. An 1873 War Medal, in bronze,  36 mm (w); very fine as a lot.
