A very desirable Waffen-SS “Förderndes Mitglied” lapel stick pin; in silvered tombac and balck enamels; 51 mm long knurled pin; maker marked “Deschler München 9”, “Ges. Gesch.”, and numbered “K8429” on the reverse; measuring 19 mm x 15 mm; very fine condition.
Footnote: A “Förderndes Mitglied der SS” was an individual who did not formally join the Waffen-SS for active duty, but instead contributed financially to the organization on a month basis towards the work of the SS at their local SS headquarters. The SS-FM was organized by the SS-Wirtschafts und Verwaltungshauptamt (SS Economic and Administrative Department). Each member was issued a lapel pin, a supporter ID card, a contribution book, and starting 1934, members also received a monthly magazine, entitled FM-Zeitschrift, which was issued by the SS-High Command to keep their members updated on important matters regarding the SS.
