Three award certificates, measuring 140x200mm and 148x210mm, all extremely fine condition with minimal scuffing and creasing. The first one is an award certificate for the Iron Cross 2nd Class, dated to May 27, 1942 and signed in blue ink by Major General and Division Commander Karl Faulenbach (1893–1971), recipient of the German Cross in Gold. The recipient is Lance Corporal Hermann Abend of the 5th Detachment of Infantry Regiment 521. The second certificate is for the Wound Badge in Silver for being wounded three times. The document is dated to November 14, 1943, and refers to actions on the battlefield on November 4. It is signed in blue ink by a Captain and the Commander of the 2nd Battalion of Grenadier Regiment 521, Hermann Stoll (1913–1944), posthumous recipient of the Knight’s Cross. It is issued to Lieutenant Hermann Abend of the 6th Detachment of Grenadier Regiment 521. The third document is for the Wound Badge in Black, dated to February 13, 1943, for actions on the battlefield one day prior. It is signed in blue-green ink by Major and Commander of the 2nd Battalion of Grenadier Regiment 521, Anton Ehrnsperger, recipient of the German Cross in Gold.
