(Ordre du Mérite National). Badge in silver gilt with green and white enamels, with sixty voided areas, unmarked, measuring 85.7 mm (w) x 132.3 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath with Algerian crescent moon and star suspension. The neck chain houses nineteen badges, which includes nine badges in silver gilt with green and white enamels, bearing the same insignia as that used on the centrepiece of the badge, measuring 28 mm (w) x 24.5 mm (h), nine badges bearing the the Algerian crescent moon and star in silver gilt, measuring 22 mm (w) x 25.5 mm (h), the nineteenth badge designed to suspend the badge and also bears the Algerian crescent moon and star, measuring 22.2 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring with slide release, the badges placed in an alternating pattern and connected to one another via two rows of triple-link chains, the two ends of the collar chain connected by a ring with slide release behind the wearer's neck, the collar chain measuring approximately 740 mm in length. Intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The National Order of Merit was instituted on January 2, 1984 and awarded for eminent civil, military or public service to the nation, and for exceptional service in the cause of the revolution. It is quite complex, as it is awarded in six grades: three classes of 'Dignity', as well as Commander, Officer and Knight.
