In rhodium-plated bronze, obverse illustrating the Municipality of Tirana coat-of-arms, inscribed "BASHKIA TIRANE" below, reverse illustrating Tirana City Hall at Skanderbeg Square, inscribed "ERION VELIAJ" (the Mayor of Tirana), with his signature below the text, measuring 56.5 mm in diameter, extremely fine. In its dark-finished wooden case of issue, the Municipality of Tirana coat-of-arms on the lid, inside lid lined in red felt and padded, the base lined in red felt and incorporating a recessed medal bed with red ribbon pull tab, latch closure, dual-hinged, measuring 110 mm (w) x 110 mm (h) x 34.7 mm (d), case also extremely fine.
Footnote: Erion Veliaj (born December 17, 1979) is an Albanian politician, who is currently serving as the 42nd Mayor of Tirana. Stemming from a civil society activism organization as the leader of MJAFT!, Veliaj joined the ranks of the Socialist Party of Albania in 2011, when he was appointed Secretary for Youth and Immigration. Previously, he has served as a Member of the Parliament for the district of Gjirokastër and as Minister of Social Welfare and Youth under Prime Minister Edi Rama. In April 2015, Veliaj was appointed as mayoral candidate of the Socialist Party in the city of Tirana. He won the elections and took office on July 31, 2015.
