(Nishan-I-Astour). Instituted c. 1920. (c. 1923 issue). A breast star, constructed of silver and silver gilt, consisting of a eight-rayed star with multiple rays between each point of the star, the obverse with a central medallion in silver gilt, Type I (c. 1923) depicting the State of Arms, the reverse plain with a nut where the center applique is attached to the star, with a raised hinged, vertical pinback, and broad wire catch, unmarked, measuring 84.9 mm (w) x 84.2 mm (l). Accompanied full-length sash ribbon and presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden frame with a green faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid with the State of Arms above a laurel half-wreath in golden ink, the interior of the lid lined with purple silk-like cotton, with dual exterior metal hinges, intact interior fabric hinge cover, recessed felt medal bed, and functional metal hinge, measuring 135 mm (w) x 303 mm (l), in overall near extremely fine condition.
