In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Measuring 213x299mm, extremely fine condition with minimal scuffing and folding creases. It was sent by Colonel Morzik to Commander of Kampfgruppe z.b.V. (Fighting Group for special use) 700, Major Ferdinand Muggenthaler. His unit was a Luftwaffe transport group, at the time stationed at the Eastern Front in Pskov. Morzik thanks Muggenthaler and his subordinates for a job done well, supplying the 2nd Army Corps, stationed southeast of Lake Ilmen. Their effort was part of the Demyansk campaign, relieving the German forces in the Demyansk pocket. The document is dated to May 28, 1942, and signed on Morzik’s behalf by a Lieutenant and Ordnance Officer, the name is illegible.
Footnote: Friedrich-Wilhelm Morzik (1891–1985), known by the nickname “Fritz” Morzik, was a veteran of both the First and Second War. During the First War he flew in the German Asia Corps in support of Turkish forces. Afterwards he worked for the famous Junkers airplane company, as well as a flight instructor. He joined the Luftwaffe in 1935 in the rank of Hauptmann (Captain). Morzik was awarded the Knight’s Cross on April 16, 1942 in the rank of Colonel and as Head of the Luftwaffe Transport Command, for organising the supplying of the German forces trapped in the Demyansk pocket during their five months struggle. He reached his highest rank, Major General, on October 1943.
