In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A newspaper cutout picture of Hermann Prieß, measuring 65x93mm, with his signature in blue ink below it, and a newspaper article about him on the back. The entire page measures 148x199mm, extremely fine condition with two punched holes, and was part of a collector’s autograph book.
Footnote:SS-Gruppenführer and Lieutenant General of the Waffen-SS Hermann Prieß (1901–1985) was a recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, and the German Cross in Gold. He commanded the infamous SS Division Totenkopf (Death’s Head). He was later appointed the leader of the 1st SS Panzer Corps, which he led during the Battle of the Bulge. He was found guilty of his participation in the Malmedy massacre and convicted of war crimes. The newspaper article about him was written after he took command of the SS Division Totenkopf, at a time when he had already received the Oak Leaves, but not yet the Swords. It consists of a short biography and praise for his role as commander of the division after the death of its former leader, SS-Obergruppenführer Theodor Eicke. The article was written by SS war reporter Willi Dißmann.
