This particular pages contains the picture and signature of SS-Hauptsturmführer Erwin Meierdrees. The page itself measures 14.8x19.9 cm newspaper clipping measuring 7x6.8cm; The headline says “Recipient of the Oak Leaves”. The text identifies him as “Commander of a Panzer Regiment in the SS-Panzergrenadier-Division “Totenkopf” (Death’s Head)”. ; Meierdrees' signature is strong and in blue ink. The page carries Meierdrees’s signature in blue ink, as well as the words “SS Hstuf. u. Abtkdr., Träger des Eichenlaubs zum R.K.” (SS Hauptsturmführer and Regiment Commander, Recipient of the Oak Leaves to the Knight’s Cross).
Footnote: Hubert-Erwin Meierdrees (1916–1945) was a recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, which he received on October 5, 1943 for his actions during the Battle of Kursk as Commander of the I./SS-Panzer-Regiment 3 "Totenkopf”. He was killed in action in early 1945
