A collection of documents, measuring between 145x206mm and 314x473mm, between fine and extremely fine condition. The recipient is an Austrian military surgeon by the name of Dr. Viktor Grünfeld.
A promotion certificate (210x294mm, extremely fine with folding creases and minor discolouration) by the Bundesministerium für Heereswesen (Federal Army Ministry), informing Grünfeld that the president of the republic has promoted him on the occasion of his permanent retirement to Generalstabsarzt (General Staff Doctor).
The document is dated to Vienna on April 22, 1931, and carries a facsimile of federal minister Carl Vaugoin.
A certificate (314x473mm, very fine with folding creases, discolouration, minor tears, and part of the paper seal in the center missing) to Oberstabsarzt 1. Klasse (Senior Staff Doctor 1st Class) Grünfeld of the Lower Austrian Brigade Command No. 3, thanking him for multiple years of immaculate service. It is dated to St. Pölten on December 13, 1928, and signed by an unidentified person, the name could be Friedrich Vandag or similar.
A certificate (145x206mm, extremely fine with folding creases) by the Bundesministerium für Heereswesen (Federal Army Ministry), stating that retired General Staff Doctor Grünfeld was awarded the Austrian War Merit Medal in St. Pölten.
The document is dated to Vienna on September 30, 1933, and carries a facsimile of federal minister Carl Vaugoin.

Ministerium für Landesvertheidigung (Royal Defense Ministry), stating that Grünfeld has been promoted to the rank of Regiment Doctor 2nd Class of the Landwehr (Homeland Defense) Infantry Regiment Linz No. 2. The document is dated to Vienna on April 26, 1902, and carries a facsimile of Minister of Defense Zeno Welser von Welsersheimb.
A letter of recommendation (206x339mm, very fine with folding creases and one noticeable tear) from the former head of the 2nd surgical unit of the royal hospital in Vienna, stating that Grünfeld successfully worked there from 1905 to 1906 as a valuable and reliable employee. The letter is dated to Vienna on October 14, 1919, the signature is indecipherable.
