Footnote: Karl Rammelt (June 10, 1914 - May 13, 2009) was a German Luftwaffe Ace. He was credited with 46 aerial victories in 450 combat missions. Rammelt was the recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (October 20, 1944), the German Cross in Gold (January 16, 1944), the Honour Goblet (June 25, 1943), as well as numerous other Luftwaffe awards.
