A Kriegsmarine Navy Line Officer's Brocade Dress Belt With Buckle; Published

In cast fire gilt bronze illustrating a fouled anchor surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves on the right end, unmarked, the buckle measuring 58.5 mm x 58.8 mm. Belt is fabricated from a fine aluminum wire with two rows of dashes in black embroidery intertwined with aluminum wire on the upper, black wool backer, the right end of the belt finishes in a point and has a hook that connects to one of nine aluminum eyelets for length adjustment, matching gilt metal receiving clip on the left end, the belt with two sliders that have matching uppers, two hinged flaps with small integral rings on the body of the belt, each with protective black felt flaps, the belt measuring 50 mm x 1,030 mm. Scattered soiling present on the upper, scattered mothing evident on the reverse. Better than very fine. This particular belt with buckle is illustrated in black and white on page 111 and in colour on page 633 of "Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich, Revised Edition" by John R. Angolia and came from his personal collection.
