Naming is officially impressed on the First War pair, the DM is un-named as issued. Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, original ribbons, edge nicks, contact marks, very fine. Accompanied by his original Transfer to Reserve Certificate; his Protection Certificate and Certificate of Identity; a Method of Wearing the Ribbon Letter; a Government Note for the Defence Medal; assorted Handwritten Letters addressed to Read from his Wife during 1917; a Photograph of Read in his RFC Uniform with Swagger Stick (black and white, faded to a sepia-toned look, studio marked "Archie Haniford MUSWELL HILL", board-mounted, 125 mm x 177 mm); three Photographs of Read in Various Uniforms (black and white, one stamped "Photo By H. ANDREE, NEWBRIDGE", each with handwritten inscriptions and postcard style backers, two at 87 mm x 137 mm, the other at 84 mm x 135 mm); and four Wedding Photographs of Read with his Bride (black and white, faded to a sepia-toned look, two with postcard style backers, one is board-mounted at 105 mm x 150 mm, one at 45 mm x 69 mm, two at 89 mm x 138 mm).
