A certificate, measuring 148x208mm, near extremely fine condition with creasing, folding crease, a minor rip, and two punched holes. The recipient is Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) Werner Beckmann of the 2nd Battery of Artillery Regiment 3. He was wounded once on July 27, 1942. The document is dated to Liebenthal (today Lubomierz, south-west Poland) on September 18, 1942 and signed by an Oberstabsarzt and Chief Medical Officer, the name is indecipherable.
Footnote: During the summer of 1942, the regiment took part in the attack on Stalingrad as part of the 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division, where it was subsequently destroyed. It is unknown if Beckmann recovered in time and went back to Stalingrad to die there, if he was taken prisoner, or if he was redeployed prior to the event.
