For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. Description
Description
The Berlin edition of the “Völkischer Beobachter” (People’s Observer), the Nazi party newspaper, 154th issue, 52nd volume, from June 3rd, 1939. The newspaper comes with a double page of the Berlin Observer, a daily supplementary sheet to the People’s Observer in Berlin. The big article on page one is about the visit of Prince Paul of Yugoslavia (and accompanying party) “in the sign of German military strength and German art”. A military parade was held, and in the evening they visited the Richard Wagner opera “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” (The Master-Singers of Nuremberg). There is also an article by Goebbels: “Class struggle of the peoples?”. The second page features a lengthy article about the military parade and a small note concerning the opera visit. Page 3 is entirely filled with five pictures of the parade. German officials include Hitler, Göring, von Brauchitsch, Goebbels, and several of their wives. Page 4 contains news of the world. Page 5 and 6 are missing.
Page 7 is again dedicated to the visit of the Yugoslavian delegation. Page 8 talks about the experiences and achievements of German volunteers in the Spanish Civil War. The page of the Berlin Observer has a title story about Paul Kübler, one of the soldiers fighting in Spain, who the day before had been promoted to lieutenant. The other articles are about local events (continued on the reverse page). There’s also a large advertisement by the shoe manufacturer Stiller.
