Naming is privately engraved on the edge of the five Second World War awards, and officially engraved on the reverse of the suspension bar on the CFD although it cannot be seen as it is secured in place. Court-mounted with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, original ribbons, plated, near extremely fine. Accompanied by a miniature group of same: 1939-1945 Star (bronze, 19 mm x 22 mm); Atlantic Star (bronze, 19 mm x 22 mm); Defence Medal (silver, 17.8 mm); Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp (silver, 18.3 mm); War Medal 1939-1945 (silver, 18.8 mm); and Canadian Forces' Decoration, George VI, 1 Clasp for 10 Years' Additional Service (silver gilt, 17.5 mm), court-mounted with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, original ribbons, scattered gilt wear on the CFD; along with eight Ribbon Bars (one with a swing bar, four with dual push pins, three without attachments); his Province of Ontario Birth Certificate, Royal Canadian Navy Identification Card 1942, Royal Canadian Navy Certificate of Service, Certificate of Membership in The Civil Service Association of Ottawa 1950 and United Service Institute of Ottawa Identification Card 1951.

Footnote: Raymond Lawrence Gleadow was born on August 27, 1917 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, the son of Norman Lawrence Gleadow and Grace Mary Gleadow (nee Stevens). Raymond Lawrence Gleadow served with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve from March 5, 1936 to May 21, 1946, was a Leading Seaman at Halifax, Nova Scotia as of May 14, 1942 and was listed on the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve List "A" as of January 4, 1943. He later served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve from July 22, 1946 to March 14, 1951 and the Royal Canadian Navy from March 15, 1951 to January 25, 1965, retiring in the rank of Lieutenant Commander (0-27430), having served almost twenty-nine years in the navy.
