Instituted 5 April 1930. A presentation case for an Order of the Crown, IV Class Knight’s Cross, constructed of a wood frame with a faux blue leather exterior, the obverse lid with a gold embossed inscription of “Jugoslavenska Kruna IV” (“Yugoslavian Crown IV”), the interior with a padded white satin-type lid liner with Serbian Cyrillic maker’s mark of “Брађа Хугуенин и Комп, Ле Локле (Швајцарска)” repeated in Latin script as “Huguenin Frères & Co., Médailleurs, Le Locle (Suisse)”, with an intact hinge cover and depressed blue doeskin medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, with a functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 66 mm (w) x 125 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), the lid liner has detached from its setting and there is moderate material fatigue evident to the case, otherwise in very fine condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
