What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

In silver gilt a very detailed  ball-tipped enameled red Maltese cross, with silver gilded rays in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting a handmade insignia surrounded by an enameled green and white laurel wreath also in silver gilt, with surmounted enameled red Spanish crown and cyphers of Isabella I and Ferdinand II, reverse with button-hole, marked “925” silver fineness, measuring 24.50 mm (w) x 24.41 mm (h), with bent 3 o’clock ball finial, near to mint.

Footnote: The Order of Isabella the Catholic was instituted in Spain as the Royal and American Order of Isabella the Catholic by royal decree of King Fernando VII/Ferdinand VII on March 24, 1815. The name of the Order was modified by decree of April 15, 1889 when the Spanish Crown abandoned its intentions of ruling Latin America, and overseas. The Order was a civil and military order originally granted in recognition of those who had served the interests of the Spanish Crown in Latin America. Currently, the Order is conferred to foreigners and Spanish citizens for meritorious civil acts, especially those that foster the relationships between Spain and other nations.
