(Орден белог орла). Instituted by King Milan I of Serbia instituted the Order of the White Eagle on 23 January 1883. Type II. 1903-1941 Issue. Military Division. A large silver gilt badge consisting of a white enameled double headed crowned eagle, obverse centre featuring the Serbian cross with a fire-steel in each quadrant on a red enameled field, reverse centre presenting the institution year of 1882 on a red enameled background, badge is adorned by two upward facing crossed swords with an enameled blue ribbon intertwined, measuring 41 mm (w- across eagle) x 90 mm (h - inclusive of swivel crown with horizontally pierced ball suspension with cross), swords measuring 49,5 mm (w), with enamel loss, swords bent and loss of gilt, remains better than fair.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
