Wesolowski, Captain, United States Air Force Reserve, Retired, copyrighted by the author in 1985, printed by Printing Services, Inc. of Miami, Florida, First Edition, First Printing in 1986, Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 86-90004, ISBN 0-937-527-00-9. A notation on the inside front cover gives an overview of the book: "A comprehensive one volume encyclopedic research work on the history of Polish military and civilian decorations. The book covers the whole history of Polish decorations from 1705 to 1985, to include the Commonwealth era of the Polish-Lithuanian Kingdom (1705-1794), the Duchy of Warsaw (1807-1813) and the Kingdom Period (1815-1831), Polish Republic (1918-1939), Polish Republic in the West (Exile, 1939-1985) and the Polish Peoples Republic (1943-1985)." It features over 1,400 photographs of every order, cross, medal, regimental breast badge and military insignia issued (the Army, Navy and Air Force prominent), with a detailed description of each item along with a corresponding reference number. Each description includes information on the purpose of the decoration, the date of establishment, its size, along with the colour of the enamels and ribbons, if applicable. The number of awards made in each class and the names of persons who received the orders is mentioned. The author states that "This book is dedicated to the Millions of Poles who fought through the ages for their Freedom and Ours and to My Father". It begins with an Acknowledgement page dated Christmas, Miami 1985 (with the author's personal stamp in black ink inscribed "DR. Z. P. WESOLOWSKI / P.O. BOX 640813 / Miami, FL 33164" appearing at the bottom of the page), followed by a Table of Contents and an Introduction. It is divided into five main sections, organized by each era of Polish history: Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth 1705-1793, 1807-1813, 1831; Republic of Poland 1918-1939; Polish Government in Exile 1939-1946; Polish Peoples Republic 1943-1985; Military, Para-Military and Civilian Badges and Insignia. It concludes with a featurette on Military Award Documents, an Addendum, a page of seven Political Maps of Poland, a dedication page to the Battle of Monte Cassino, two pages of Statistical Data on Awarded Polish Decorations 1705-1985, a Bibliography and a Collectors Directory. It contains 420 pages of text, along with photographs of the various items, printed in black ink, on a thick newsprint-paper stock, with eight pages on a bright white paper stock incorporating colour photographs inserted near the front of the book, perfect-bound, measuring 215 mm (w) x 280 mm (h) x 22 mm (d). It exhibits light wear, along with creasing in the corners on both the front and back covers, however, the pages contained within remain unaffected. Better than very fine.
