Latvia, Republic. An Army Regimental Badge, c.1921
An ovular badge of silvered bronze, the obverse centre bears the cipher “VAK” with a flaming grenade inscribed with “1921”, below are two crossed cannons, on a background of rays encompassed by a wreath of oak leaves tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse is plain and shows the attachment prongs of the obverse plate, with a screw back and plain plate, measuring 35.62 mm (w) x 48.16 mm (h), very fine.
