He had previous been a Private (5/5520) with the Norfolk Regiment when he enlisted as a Rifleman (B/200115) with the 11th Battalion, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own). He was Killed in Action on March 20, 1918 at Ognolles, a commune in the Oise Department in Northern France, likely during Operation Michael. He has no known grave and was initially commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in the Somme. Rifleman Albert Seaman is acknowledged on the Commonwealth War Graves website as officially having died between March 22 and April 1, 1918. His commemoration has recently been transferred to the Pozieres Memorial, with an additional panel to be placed. As it was not possible to add his name to the Pozieres Memorial immediately, his name will be remain on the Thievpal Memorial and will be removed when the appropriate panel is replaced on the Pozieres Memorial. For his First World War service, he was posthumously awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
