A Rare WWI Canadian Sanderson Quillon Bayonet

A Rare WWI Canadian Sanderson Quillon Bayonet - Steel blade features a very sharp blade and tip, with fullers on both sides, measures 23 mm x 430 mm, marked with a crown above above "E.R.", version dated "1907", inspection dated "9 '08" (September 1908) and maker marked "SANDERSON" on one side of the ricasso, marked with the Broad Arrow government acceptance stamp, an "X" bend mark and three crown above individual inspector number "35" and "E" (Enfield) marks on the ricasso's other side, hooked metal quillon with ring, wooden plates embedded on either side of the handle and held in place via two rivets and central pins, the handle exhibiting light contact and one small gouge near the pommel, marked "CAN." above "R. 590" on the pommel, weighing 490 grams, measuring 80 mm x 550 mm overall, light contact and pitting on the blade. Accompanied by its black leather scabbard, heavy stitched raised seam along the full length of the scabbard on the reverse, painted black chape and locket wired to the leather body, the locket with intact frog stud, along with three rivets on either side and wide throat, partial separation evident of the locket from the leather body, weighing 293 grams, measuring 40 mm x 445 mm overall, light scuffing on the leather exposing the original brown colouring, contact marks on the chape and locket. All metal parts are magnetic, very fine overall.
