United Kingdom. A Walmsley Shooting Competition Medal
Three-piece construction, in silver, obverse illustrating a riflemen kneeling and in a shooting position, on an ornate shield background, engraved with a forest of trees at the far left, a deciduous tree and two tents at the right, the tent at the left flying the Union Jack, with multiple thatching representing blades of grass in the foreground, the ornate frame bearing two crossed branches of laurel leaves on its edge, reverse with a partially legible maker mark, measuring 44 mm (w) x 48 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, suspended from a ribbon banner style hanger engraved "MEDAL", crossed rifles clasp affixed to its original ribbon, suspended from an ornate hanger engraved "WALMSLEY" with pinback, the tip of the ribbon on the left branch of laurel leaves having broken off, surface wear evident on the rifleman, better than very fine.
