A Type II Iron Cross 1939 First Class; in frosted silvered tombac; vertical pinback; measuring 44.18 mm x 30.43 mm; weighing 9.7 grams; in mint condition with only limited silvering loss. In its original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock with a black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; white velvet lining for the interior of the lid with a black felt recessed medal bed; functional push button; with a perfectly intact interior fabric hinge cover and a functional exterior medal hinge; measuring 67 mm x 67 mm. Accompanied by the original box for the case of issue; the obverse with “Clasp to the Iron Cross 1st Class” and “only to be opened by the recipient” on the obverse, with “B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim” on the side of the box. Overall mint and unissued condition.
