What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A Prussian Enlisted Man's Pickelhaube

A Prussian Enlisted Man's Pickelhaube - This helmet has been untouched and original through and through. It is offered here just as it was found. Pickelhaube in polished black leather, smooth to the touch, with crazing on the neck guard, the front visor and milder crazing on top. It has solid brass fittings, which includes the spike (with four ventilation holes), spike mounting base (with four pins), rear spine (with sliding ventilation trap) and visor trim. Prussian cockade on the right side, missing its Imperial cockade on the left side. Beautifully detailed Prussian eagle helmet plate. Leather chin strap exhibits wear but remains supple, with adjustable brass buckles. Inside comes complete with its original nine-panel supple leather liner, without drawstring, maker stamped "Carl Ludewig" and "1915" in the rear of the dome, name handwritten in ink to "Utffz Brauns" and stamped "B.A.X. 1915" on the underside of the neck guard, handwritten initials "EM" scribed on the underside of the visor.Interestingly, the indentations from the cloth helmet cover are still visible on the reverse visor! Measures 170 mm x 245 mm x 208 mm in height, two creases on the inside of the visor trim, spike and its mounting base sitting loose upon the helmet, musty smell with evidence of mold stains on the leather liner, contact marks overall, nicely crafted, in near very fine condition.
