Germany, Imperial. A Pickelhaube Winter Camouflage Cover, with Memorial Portrait

A well-preserved Pickelhaube winter camouflage cover, constructed of multiple piece of machine-stitched cotton, topped by a cone of identical construction secured in place with cotton straps for the accommodation of the helmet’s spike, the interior affixed with four silvered bronze clips for attachment, unmarked, measuring 320 mm (w) x 270 mm (h) when folded flat, with minor soiling evident, in near extremely fine condition; it is accompanied by a memorial portrait, constructed of white porcelain, the obverse depicting a black-and-white photo of a Heer soldier wearing a Pickelhaube with an identical cover, the reverse bearing an indiscernible maker’s logo, measuring 78 mm (w) x 102 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
