In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A certificate, measuring 208x147mm, extremely fine condition with light scuffing. It comes with a trophy in the form of an oak leaf, 68x29mm, bronzed aluminum, on a black and white cord. A seal that originally held the cord’s end in place is missing. The document states that HJ boy Jauss (no first name given) won 2nd place in the 100 meter breaststroke competition during the HJ contests of July 16 to 24, 1938 in the region of Hochland (19). It carries a facsimile of Obergebietsführer Emil Klein.
Footnote: Emil Klein (1905–2010) was a national socialist of the first hour. He joined the NSDAP in 1920, the year it was founded, when he was only 14 years old. Two years later, he also joined the SA. Klein took part in the Beer Hall Putsch, after which the party was outlawed. He rejoined in 1925 and got member number 47,014, and became part of the HJ in 1927. He became HJ Obergebietsführer (Senior District Leader) in 1935 and, due to several other offices he held, was seen as the highest ranking Bavarian HJ leader. Between 1939 and 1942, Klein served in the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 98 in Yugoslavia and Russia. During his career, he was awarded the Blood Order (no. 1,054), the Golden HJ Honour Badge with Oak Leaves, the Golden Party Badge, the Coburg Badge, the NSDAP Long Service Award in Silver, and the Iron Cross 2nd Class.
