Buckle in silvered aluminum, maker marked with the stylized Assmann "A" (F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid), marked "DRGM" (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) and numbered "38" (1938) on the reverse, illustrating the RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) on the obverse, the buckle measuring 49.3 mm x 64.5 mm. Belt is fabricated from a thick leather with a smooth finished brown upper, raw underside, maker stamped in blue ink with the interlocking initials "GV" on the underside at the left end behind the tab, the tab stitched in place, with four rows of two holes each for length adjustment and silvered aluminum receiving clip on the left end, the belt without sliders and measuring 43 mm x 1,040 mm. Light contact on the buckle, light crazing on the belt's upper. Extremely fine.

Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
