A Gold chain comprising four strands measures 128.61mm (l – from clasp to clasp, not including connecting chains), weighs 11.9 grams, catch bar marked with double oak leaves denoting manufacturing in the Netherlands between 1853-1906 of small Gold items 583/1000, reverse bears a partial indecipherable mark, in overall extremely fine condition. The miniatures include:
France. A Legion of Honneur (Type IV, July Monarchy, 1830-1848), in Gold, a white enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, a green enamelled laurel wreath in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presents a right facing effigy of Henri IV surrounded by the inscription HENRI IV on a blue enamel ring, the reverse medallion presents crossed French flags surrounded by the inscription HONNEUR ET PATRIE on a blue enamel ring, the badge is surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 14.00mm (w) x 21.95mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension and integral ball), slight loss of green enamel of wreath, extremely fine condition.
Sweden. An Order of Vasa, in silver gilt, a white enamel Maltese cross with ball finials and crowned cyphers in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a vase on a red enamel background, surrounded by the inscription GUSTAVE D III INST 1772, reverse mirrors obverse, surmounted by a Gold crown, measures 14.50mm (w) x 24.35mm (h – inclusive of integral ring and crown suspension), scattered gilt wear, enamels intact, extremely fine condition.
Saxe-Weimar. An Order of the White Falcon, in Gold, a green enamelled Maltese Cross with red enamelled cross segments in each quadrant, obverse center presents a superimposed white enamelled falcon, the reverse presents a white enamelled Maltese cross with Green enamelled cross segments in each quadrant, the reverse center presents a crowned blue enamelled field with the inscription VIGILANDO ASCENDIMUS, the badge is surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 14.23mm (w) x 22.58mm (h – including the crown and integral ring), enamels all intact, better than extremely fine condition.
Austria. An Order of the Knights of Malta, in Gold, a white enamelled Maltese cross, the reverse mirrors the obverse, measures 14.67mm (w) x 16.29mm (h – inclusive of integral suspension ring), enamels intact, extremely fine condition.
