A Scarce Czechoslovakian Air Force Dagger by Wlasziovits of Štós, c. 1935

Measuring 400 mm, with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 220 mm nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with sharp edges and having a very sharp tip. The blade's obverse ricasso is maker marked "WLASZLOVITS STOS" with the Bohemian lion above, while the reverse ricasso is numbered "138". It retains its crossgraining, in addition to scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, with scattered surface wear, the blade rating extremely fine. The fittings are in matte finished brass, including a crossguard incorporating the Bohemian lion on both sides, the handle with a beaded design and loose-fitting embedded synthetic ivory plates on both sides, terminating with a square-shaped pommel and an oval butt, the dagger measuring 352 mm overall. The fittings on the scabbard are also in matte finished brass, with the exposed areas wrapped in a dark brown leather, an ornate design on the chape, both the locket and the band below with integral v-shaped loops for placement upon dagger hangers, along with one retaining screw in the throat, the scabbard 268 mm in length. Brass fittings on both items exhibiting very light contact and residue in the recessed areas from cleaning, tiny dents on the locket and very light wear on the leather on the reverse of the scabbard. Extremely fine.
