Description
A lot of two steel helmets, consisting of:
1. A Refurbished M42 Stahlhelm, Norwegian Military Adapted, by Eisenhüttenwerke Thale. (Heer Stahlhelm M42) Constructed of magnetic molybdenum steel shell.Three rivets are distributed around the outer circumference to secure the interior fixtures in position, while the shell is also flanked by two integral ventilation eyelets. It has been repainted, thus hiding the original dual side decals, but with some remains of the later used Norwegian shield decal present. The rim demonstrates no crimping in standard M42 format. A non-magnetic metal ring surrounds the interior of the shell. The interior leather liner, which culminates in ten leather fingers that are tied together at the ends via a single eyelet and drawstring. Two aluminum rings descend from the sides of the ring and retain a replacement two-piece chinstrap constructed of medium brown leather, fastened and adjusted with a functional magnetic metal buckle. Stamped onto the back of the skirt is a code of “1540”, with an additional stamp of “ET64” under the left skirt indicating manufacture by Eisenhütternweke, Thale, with a shell size of “64”. Measuring approximately 24.0 cm (w) x 28.8 cm (l) x 14 cm (h), the helmet demonstrates issues consistent with age and field use are evident, and include moderate wear and scratching through the shell resulting in some loss of paint, in overall fine condition.
2. An American post 1950s M1 Combat Helmet, consisting of an outer shell and an interior shell. The outer shell is constructed of manganese steel with a textured dark green exterior finish, while the interior shell is made of composite material. The exterior shell features singular bales on either side of the helmet that are attached to an olive drab canvas strap with a buckle on each end to form the chin strap. The interior shell is ordained with matching olive drab canvas that forms a web, in addition to a medium brown leather sweatband for comfortable wearing. It measures approximately 238 mm (w) x 282 mm (l) x 200 mm (h), and is in extremely fine condition.
