Hardcover, emerald green cloth cover, the text on the front cover and spine in a gold-coloured ink, entitled "The Story of the Royal Canadian Dental Corps", by Lieutenant-Colonel Harold McGill Jackson, M.B.E., E.D., published by the Industrial Shops for the Deaf in Montreal, Quebec in 1956. It includes thirteen black and white photographs (as the Frontispiece, between pages 80-81 (2), 112-113 (2), 174-175 (2), 236-237 (2), 268-269 (2), 300-301 (2)), along with three maps in black inserted at three locations, between pages 146-147 ("The United Kingdom 1940-1945"), 212-213 ("The Dental Companies, Italy, 1943-1945") and 346-347 ("The Dental Companies, North-West Europe"). The book begins with a List of Illustrations and Maps, followed by a Foreword by The Director General of Dental Services, Brigadier E.M. Wansborough (dated November 8, 1956), an Introduction and a Table of Contents. The book contains twenty-six chapters: 1 - Military Dentistry and the Dental Surgeons of the C.A.M.C.; 2 - The Great War of 1914-19; 3 - The Post-War Period; 4 - The Reorganization of 1935; 5 - Reorganization in 1939 and the Outbreak of War; 6 - Organization in Canada; 7 - Dental Headquarters and its Early Problems; 8 - Keeping Pace with Expanding Services; 9 - Training: Demobilization; 10 - The District Companies; 11 - The District Companies (ii); 12 - The 1st Divisional Dental Company, C.A.S.F.; 13 - Intermediate Overseas Base and Headquarters; 14 - Companies Prepare for Action; 15 - More Companies Are Altered; 16 - Dental Service with the R.C.A.F.; 17 - Dental Service with the R.C.A.F.
